Kenny Dalglish deserves that knighthood for telling Wenger to piss off.

What's the difference between that, and what Rooney told the cameras a few weeks ago?

I know Dalglish is a lot more likable than Rooney, but why isn't the british press up in arms (as usual) about this?

may i? I think there is an important difference between them.

I would say that swearing occurs pretty much constantly during every game. In all these instances it's only down to the people editing the footage as to what gets heard by the audience. In theory you could capture 100's of instances a game for the audience to see/hear. So there's that and then there's swearing loudly directly at the camera after you personally have just scored when the focus is obviously on you. It was almost like he actually knew the camera man and thought he was a cunt.

Having said all that, we both know that the British press are absolutely mental so i'm as surprised as you that not more is being made of it.

Rooney has been a vocal advocate of British-jobs-for-British-people. On this particular occasion he used his unique platform as a method of showing his displeasure at the influx of Asian camera-operatives that are coming to England and taking jobs from earnest British cameramen.

The Premier League has revolutionised European football in terms of TV coverage and there has subsequently been a massive increase in Japanese-manufactured equipment in the biggest stadiums. British students are struggling to keep up and many consider it a shame.

You will find that this cameraman in particular was called... *drumroll*... Fu Ken Wat.

It's hilarious, especially when you can hear people in the stands going mental and cursing like a madman (see QPR's maddest fan for example). Are they going to put a gag order on the fans?

Total double standard.

They aren't stood a metre away, swearing AT the camera are they? I doubt the argument is too subtle for you, chen!

i'll ask you this, because i can see how this is going already. Should players be allowed to stare at the camera and swear into it - seemingly at it aggressively?

The point here is that all swearing on the pitch cant be stopped, we all know that, so a line needs to be drawn at some point. I would argue that the line can be drawn at scoring a goal and then swearing aggressively into the camera from a metre away.

No but they're oft sat a meter away, swearing right under the commentary booth. ;)

Of course there's a distinction, but personally I have no issue with it. Swearing? Really? Even joyrex allows swearing....lol

Are there really people who believe that these lads are lily-white role models? That's never been true, and I'd wager that even the legendary Sir Bobby Charlton would have some dirt on his name in the current media soaked environment that is professional sports.

That Spurs-Arsenal match was one of the best I've seen this season. Exciting as hell!

It was a shitty drop, but it wasn't a goal. Kalou's was offside as well. But Kaboul definitely fouled Malouda...

Spurs should try and pick up Shay Given.

Also why the fuck can Woy only manage teams that are shit to begin with and then get them to overachieve?

That Ramsey, Wilshere, Song midfield worked perfectly.

Fabregas.. Feel free to leave for Barcalona.

This. Over and over again. Fuck off Cesc. 35m, please.

I do hope you aren't serious. Fans expect a level of loyalty from the players, it's funny how rarely it goes the other way.

He's not played very well this season. He's been injured a lot, but he's also had a bad attitude on the pitch. He clearly wants to leave now. I think we were right to keep him for one more season, but now we should cash in.

Imagine if we'd only won the League Cup and he would have left feeling vindicated, 'I finally won a trophy, I can leave'. The League Cup is the bare minimum.

Maybe 'fuck off' was a bit strong. I don't mean that. I've appreciated him for years and he's in no way a villain (backheel against Barca, perhaps). But I think we've all conceded that he's going and at this point his position and the money earned from him are looking more attractive than he does on the pitch. Wilshere and Ramsey are talents, and 35m coming in would mean that Wenger has literally no excuse not to spend decent money on cover for right-back, a right winger and a finisher.

Vidic.. What a scumbag.

LOL and Clichy stepping on the back of Owen's leg was pure class. Do us a favour love.

We played like garbage today, but I was impressed with Ramsay and Wilshere, and Song did a good job as well. Was surprised Eboue didn't fuck things up for teh Arse...suppose he wasn't on the pitch long enough.
