Always though that Move Of Ten was a reference to their entire career, you know, like : "our progression was a move of ten albums". Now they can sit down and look back at their past, at those ten albums.

OK. And.

WAP505 : 505 : 5+0+5 : 10 : TEN :shuriken:

except Move Of Ten isn't an album, it's an EP

I think you could reasonably consider it an album.

I don't think it could reasonably be considered an EP.

the catalogue number is WAP505

anything designated as WAP is an EP on Warp

ergo, it is an EP

edit: how many "albums" do you know of that are sold as two separates to the whole? the answer: none

In my mind there's no question as to whether it's an album or EP. It's an EP/EP Bundle/whatever you want to call it.......

Albums aren't sold in two parts. Also, AE wouldn't release an album with a cover that reworks the artwork of the previous one.

beat me to it on the whole "two parts" thing

I don't get it. Who would refer to their career as a "move of" something?

Me.

I consider a career as a progression, i.e a move between two positions (whether it's in a hierarchy or not). And yeah, 10 is a symbolic number. I always associate the name "Move Of Ten" to the number of tracks on it and to the number of albums preceding it. But like I said, that's only my thought about this name...

And yeah, Move Of Ten is an EP.

maybe the kind of guys that would refer to a kidney bean as a 'reniform puls'!

Does it really require this level of analysis? I know I'm one to talk, considering my history on here but I think it simply comes down to it being a move of the tenth album (Oversteps).

and also obviously the fact that it has ten tracks.

To stay in the esoteric electronica genre, we can start with Guns and Roses.

looks like i pissed someone off enough to encourage them to make a dupe account.

point still remains - Move Of Ten is an EP, not an album.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Move Of Ten deserves a 10 out of 10 rating (in your opinion).

Also a lot of the percussion sounds like tin (get it??? it's a homophone for 10! kekeke) and the spiral design looks kind of like the bottom of a tin can.

Still not getting these 2010 releases. I guess I need to go listen to them some more. Cos it's obviously not the records that are the problem, it's me. Right??

At the very least, Chiastic Slide and Quaristice sound better than ever. I just hope the new Seefeel isn't such a frigging disappointment.

Ok, by definition:

LP = Long Play (Album)

EP = Extended Play (mini album)

Im sure there are lots of geeky classifications out there to show what formats conform to which rules for charting purposes...

...but if ae call it an EP, Warp release it as an EP, then it is an EP.

An EP is like a single but extended. so it's an extended playing single. lol.

it's not as long as a long player or an album, but it's not as short as a 2 or 3 track single.

(in olde fashion terms.)

how dare you mention G'n R in the Ae subforum!! ?

a 2 or 3 part album would be cool, tho.... like a saga.

it's done with EP's.. sort of, so why not albums?

This release is incredible. I think the 2nd half is where the best stuff is. no border is filled with emotion. ylm0 is definitely one of my favourite ae tracks. nth_Dafusederb for some reason triggers good memories for me.

yep, the 2nd one is my favorite... if they make their next album similar to it i'd be very happy

Pretty bad sign of suck when only two posts out of a 4 page thread actually talk about the contents of the recording rather than its punny title/confusing catalogue status.

errr, but that's the topic of what the guy's thread is all about.. lol. it's title, etc.

i'm fairly sure there are other threads that talk about the contents of the recording if you'd rather talk shit in there. :)
