The singer has a real Stevie Nicks vibe going on in her voice - not that's a bad thing, mind you...

I actually had a hard time figuring out if the singer was male or female when I 1st heard them. She has that kind of weird young male country voice. Maybe like Bob Dylan in "Girl of the North Country".

JR, I would start with the first s/t album and then Teen Dream, then Devotion (just as good, but a deeper, mellower vibe to me). I love Victoria's Voice, just fits the music perfectly.

Will do - I usually try and get everything an artists' put out, and then decide what's buy-worthy based on that.

i would start with teen dream actually. i think its their best.

Ah i got it - the lead singer's voice reminds me of Margo Timmins and Hope Sandoval. Always a good thing :)

ah yes! i heard one of their tracks on the radio a few months ago. i shall pursue!

I felt the same way. At first, I was like "I wonder how old this guy is. He must be in his early 20s. It couldnt possibly be a girl, could it?"

After I found out it was a girl, it took me a while to adjust to the idea. I had the image of a group of skinny-jeaned hipster dudes. In actuality, it was a brassy-voiced dame and one guy on guitar.

My wife has a bit of a girl-crush on the singer.

"Silver Soul" is an amazing song. Some of the guitar stuff reminds me a bit of My Bloody Valentine's tremolo sweepy stuff. Love love love.

They're incredible live, I saw them last month and they blew my balls to smithereens. They never play anything from their first album anymore just the latest two so if you're a fan of the first one you'll be disappointed. Don't worry about missing the show though they're always on tour chances are they'll be back within a few months, hardest working band in dreampop!
