the progression in this song always reminds me of leterel, the way it starts out sounding kind of aimless, then suddenly clicks and drops into a really nice satisfying harmony

Exactly. I'm not an huge fan of the mental ending, but the rest is awesome. Especially the change around 1:10, it blows my mind.
