I think I'll release a record under that moniker and make it odd movie scores.

As irritating as it is to us, I suppose giving your band a name like this is an easy way to associate yourself with this whole 80's nostalgia / movie soundtrack / chillwave movement that's hot right now. So if you see a band named Ficheal J. Mox or Jennifer Jennifer Beals or something like that, people will automatically know what scene you identify with.

And just so you all know, I've got dibs on Belly LeKrock.

I agree with the twisted use of names from yesteryear is a bit unusual and not needed but I've got to know the music of Joy Orbison now whereas I've never been a fan of Roy.

So in my opinion Roy Orbison is the copy of dear old Joy Orbison.

Well not really but that's how I'd like to think of it if you don't mind.

I just learned of a band/artist called Grobbing Thristle. Kinda interesting though.
