Shoegaze

I'm looking for shoegaze/ dream pop and laid back psychedelic rock... good places to start for those?

I really like Carrying A Dead Deer Up A Hill by Grouper.

Cocteau Twins and Lush are the only artists I have stuff by that I believe are called shoegaze

i think pygmalion is actually quite a bit better than souvlaki. the use of space in "rutti" is really amazing.

Seconding Cocteau Twins (especially Victorialand), Slowdive 'n' LSD and the Search for God

Really, really digging alot of this. The Slowdive, Mazzy Star and Bardo Pond are my favourites so far.

You guys have given me a lot of names to look into, and it's all top-notch.

Ya know, that's not too bad, either. Definitely prefer the softer stuff atm though.

They're not exactly shoegaze (close enough though), but anything by Flying Saucer Attack. Start with the first two albums.

I don't have anything to add, but shoegaze is a great name for a genre.
