The best coffee I could find when I lived in Vancouver was from the cafe area at a Capers store, even if it was from an automated espresso machine. When I walk into a cafe, I expect to hear a Barista banging out spent 100% Arabica coffee granules into a bin. Otherwise I get suspicious.

I hear electronic music all the time in "traditional" places:

National Public Radio (uses a lot of electronic music for their song interludes between pieces)

Cartoon Network's Adult Swim (currently using a rash of Tycho and BoC for their "bumps")

I heard Squarepusher's Planetarium (one of my fave SP tracks) in Hot Topic. I've heard Aphex in the Vans shoe outlet store before too.

Thats what I'm saying. These artists are all famous , anyone who doesnt think so is being a moron. Im surprised I dont hear them more places, especially BoC.

If I heard Ae in a shop I'd be impressed but I cant imagine what that shop might sell.

Get a life, you are not special, your taste in music is not unique.

So true. I don't understand why so many BoC fans think this. A Boards of Canada track or 2 plays on an [Adult Swim] bump every night. I heard BoC on Channel One (A horrible high school student news network) numerous times. Beware the Friendly Stranger is in all of the Salad Fingers Cartoons. And apparently it's on the BBC everywhere too. They're signed with Warp Records. It's not like they're underground.

Now, when I hear them in these things, I don't cry to myslef, "Oh Noes! My Indie Cred!", I just enjoy it, because I like their music.

Edit: Lol, didn't realize everyone beat me to it, and I'm happy to see others are not stupid. I assumed everyone would still be talking about Coffee Snobbish topics on page 3.

lasers that build robots

I could imagine Treale being played in one of those hip urban clothing stores as background music

I heard some Aphex at 5 this morning on the local radio. Made my morning until the DJ said it was her "favorite BAND", and called out the track as "fILm" by Aphex Twin (with a short-A sound)

should i have called in to correct her?

No, you should have headed down to the radio station and smacked her in the face with your cock

when I was photoshopping this together, i googled "starbucks logo" and "all-seeing eye" and downloaded the two best looking options.

amazingly, the eye fit right in the middle of the logo. i literally didn't have to resize either by a single pixel.

coincidence, or the truth finally revealed? we report, you decide.

Fantastic! My coworker and I have been tripping on that starbucks gal for a couple months now. Never noticed her until then and neither of us could figure out who or what she was. But those eyes are wicked looking.

mind altering substances

I heard 'Cock/Ver10' played in Forbidden Planet in Nottingham once.

Oh, and in Page 45 (another Nottingham comic shop) I heard the Stereolab remix of 'Kid For Today' (although the guy who worked there then was into his Stereolab).

From what I remember DJs don't have to know fuckall as it's probably their producers who decide what to play anyway. And Chris Moyles is a DJ, does anyone think that annoying cunt knows shit about anything?
