so far my favorites have been (all from first season):

the very first episode where they meet

the one with the disease in the middle of some arctic base underground - it's called "ice." good shit.

the one with the bugs in the woods. it ended with a cliffhanger and scully was in critical condition - there was no ending! but the next episode didn't even talk about it. that kind of irritated me.

i like the ones with the aliens more than the ones with the ghost and supernatural stuff, but those are still entertaining.

I wish I could remember more of the episodes that i watched, but I was really high during the 90s. It made for some great weekly viewing over at my friends' house.

i think one of the things that made it so popular and huge is that it never took itself too seriously.

백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

You were high during the 90s and you're starting school again soon? It didn't compute for a second, but it's actually only slightly strange to me, there are lots of very reasonable explanations, but I wonder what you're studying and what degree you're going for?

the one with the hillbillies is called "home," and was the most fucked up thing i'd ever seen when it aired (it wasn't initially banned, it aired once and then was banned from repeats for a few years.)

most of the arc was like, the greatest thing on television ever up until that point. in my opinion, anyways. but i was obsessed with the x-files when i was a kid. like, really, really obsessed.

i watched the first season again not too long ago for the first time in years. the 90s cheese tends to enhance my enjoyment of it.. maybe its just nostalgia but who cares. the brad dourif episode was top notch.

yes classic episode, the part at the beginning where scully sees her dad on the chair talking but no words are coming out is scary as shit, still creeps me out the same way it did when i was 11

here are some more of my favorite episodes:

Season 6: 15: Arcadia, 7: Terms of Endearment, 4 & 5 Dreamland: Part One & Part Two, Field Trip

Season 5: 3: Unusual Suspects (flashback to how mulder met the lone gunmen), 15: Travelers(flashback to proto x-files mulder's dad), 12: Bad Blood, 5: Post Modern Prometheus 19: Folie a Deux

Season 4: 21: Zero Sum, 12: Leonard Betts, 2: Home, 7: Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man (flashback origin of smoking man)

Season 3: 4: Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose, 17: Pusher, 20: Jose Chung from Outer Space, 23: Wet-Wired

a few favorite eps:

small potatoes (the one with the guy who can shapeshift and starts impregnating most of the small town he lives in)

bad blood (fake vampires OR ARE THEY REAL?!)

the one where the guy holds his office hostage because he thinks his boss is a monster

the one with the kid who controls lightning (guest starring a very young jack black and the asshole corporate dude from avatar)

home

clyde bruckman's final repose

jose chung's from outer space

the one with bruce campbell as a demon who sells insurance

hollywood A.D. (it's so ridiculous, and garry shandling as mulder is fucking hilarious)

oh the one where mulder and scully go undercover as a couple to investigate strange disappearances in a gated community. rob and laura petrie!

and like 95% of the mytharc episodes.

oh man yeah that one with brad dourif is fantastic too.

that fuckin show!

I've always thought of Ribisi "as that guy from the lighting episode," no matter how many times I've seen him since.

Great list, disparaissant. Gave me the nostalgias something fierce.

netflix is such a great investment. pretty much my go to for when i'm feeling down or bored/restless.

i love that i have so much more x files to experience.

so far this stands alongside the wire, sopranos, and curb your enthusiasm, maybe twin peaks - as one of my favorite live action tv shows. i love how you get to know the characters and follow along with them.

mulder is what i want to be like when i'm that age. so awesome. and that weird guy he talks to is a great character.

and the guy that is always smoking when he goes to talk to his boss - standing there, silent. he finally spoke in one of the last episodes i watched - badass

i'm going to plan on deadwood being my next tv show project

something about dourif is really lovable, and then his acting is brilliant too, as proven by that x files episode of all things. i had only seen him in one flew over the kukuz nest a while back as the really nice mental patient.

watching the episode "roland" right now. i have to admit, some of these episodes actually really suck (this one), but i'm going to sit through them anyway.

it's very formulaic
