Mario Gomez scored 39 in 45 appearances last year (including 8 in the CL)! Rooney scored 16 in 40 (4 in CL). If you want to go by assists, Gomez: 7, Rooney: 13. Not a gulf worth making him the third best striker in the world. Rooney's agent is awesome.

That FIFA list has no credibility, Gomez is the best striker in the world at the moment.

Rooney plays off the striker most of the time, Gomez is always the top man. Plus he's playing in the Bundesliga - yer feckin gran could score 30 odd in the Bundesliga.

Rooney, Messi and Ronaldo all do much more than score goals.
