This fucked up shit with Arched Maid via RDJ

I noticed this in my collection a while back. I downloaded Hangable Auto Bulb and then I bought it some time later. But then I forgot which copy was the cd burn and which was the download, but to be honest I wasnt arsed checking it out. But Ive found videos on youtube to the same effect.

If you care to look at the 2 videos, just the beginning of each is enough to tell the difference between them. One starts of distinctly flatter than the other.

So which one is the one Richy intended?

Which one do you prefer?

I presume this came out by people ripping the vinyl at different speeds.

Personally I prefer the one with the more minor texture.

the fast one is on the cd that i bought a few years ago... i too have a ripped version that someone gave me and it was slower than that other sample you posted.

I think the faster sounds more right.

It's the one at the top (matchings the timing to the CD release I have - though why they included 1 minutes worth of silence is a mystery). Though the bottom one I'm guessing is just slowed down slightly via the turntable speed slider thing rather than being played at 33 when it should be 45 as there's only a few seconds difference.

Yeah it's definitely the fast[er] one. I have the CD release and having heard that version for years, the "slow version" sounds proper lethargic. Sure the wails sound cool slowed down but the drums don't have nearly the same tightly-programmed effect

"Every Day" is also Tempo fucked. But I like the slower version better.

The slower versions were the only versions I knew until the CD reissue came out. That totttaally fucked with me. It felt so rushed. But since it was obviously intended to be faster, I kept the legit versions. Now I've gotten used to it and that slow version sounds really slow.

I'd somehow never heard this until the CD came out so I only know the faster one.

the first time i ever heard this song was on a tape made of the original record: it's the faster one. the reissue HAB CD backs this up, although it mixes up the track names for every day and arched maid on the back of the case.
