This fucked up shit with Arched Maid via RDJ

Recommended Posts

I'm 100% sure that 45rpm is the 'right' answer for Every Day and Arched Maid. Here's why:

I bought Hab2 on vinyl when it first came out. I played it at 33 rpm and loved it.

I always thought the voice on Every Day sounded like an old lady, complaining about her life of toil with a demanding (and presumably now dead) husband.

When the HAB CD came out though, it had the 45rpm version on it.

And if you go back to the original vocal sample that is used for Every Day ( see attached) you discover that the voice is actually a young girl explaining why she doesn't want to be a millionaire (with a demanding husband)

This sample matches how the voice on the song sounds at 45 rpm. That plus the fact that the CD was 45 rpm makes it definite.

(I still prefer the 33rpm version though because thats how I first heard it)

and don't forget the old Warp FAQ: "If it sounds good, you're playing it at the right speed"

This was posted in another thread but it seems pretty appropriate. It seems Richards speed is irrelevant. He kills at and tempo
