I dunno though, I've always felt that little maxim/adage is very "sample-specific". If you set up a marble table in Upper East Side Manhattan and saw shit like "commodities or bonds--which to move forward on?" or "1 franchise out of 3,000 across America failed to meet quarterly profit predictions", I'd be all "nigga, give me some motherfuckin' money!" and then I'd do my best to keep my problems on that table and shove them towards other bastards.
