not hating, I think this fan boy-ism is just ridiculous, especially with the reason for the OP. If I played games a lot more I would buy a ps3 and would have a 360, PC and a PS3 with no internal dialogue of loyalty to any of them. Having fan boy wars might be fun to you but I think its just getting old.

Oh, lighten up or I'll change your username to Wet Blanket Fort Collapsed Under It's Own Weight.

Go install a video card that gives you 1 billion by 1 billion res and runs at 5000 frames per second :emotawesomepm9:

console fan boy wars are just too trivial at this point, its pretty pointless. They all have their strong suits. This forum deserves discussion with more stupidity, insanity and ridiculousness.

BTW your jealousy of PC gamers being able to enjoy better visuals, superior controls and more options is getting you nowhere

console wars while definitely ridiculous, not quite enough and again they are trivial and boring now. Its 2k10 lets step it up

P.S. its almost 2k11...

EA announced today that Mass Effect 2 (formerly 360/PC only) will be coming to PS3 in January 2011. This almost certainly means that ME3 (since it was a planned trilogy) will be cross-platform.

For the 360 owners who played ME2, what do I have to look forward to? The reviews were generally good, but does the game live up to the hype?

Still no mass effect 1 for the PS3, which is kind of silly as newcommers to the franchise on the ps3 would be a little lost plot wise. (ala, they should just play it on the pC)

I will definitely pick this up. Right after I finish BC2, Bioshock 2, and pick up red dead redemption, GOW3, just cause 2, finish LBP and demon's souls too, oh and Brink is getting released soon and that looks good. When are "the last guardian" and "Metal Gear Solid: rising" getting released? Fucking video games are amazing, Off to open up a game of dwarf fortress and nethack and play them simulateously.

My buddy was supposed to let me borrow ME2, but sold it back before I got the chance

it's definitely worth a rental, which is what i did. finished the game in about 3-4 days. it's not long but it's terribly fun.

protip: play as a female shepard. the voice acting is A LOT better. no cringing, i promise, and you still get to bang hot blue aliens. win/win i think.

The female character's voice reminds me of Jodie Foster's voice.

I know, man. He was basically telling me that he was an idiot and doesn't like games that make him think.

Agreed.

And what I said about the female character's voice isn't necessarily a bad thing :emotawesomepm9:

I think the demo of this came out today for PSN. Anyone give it a go? I'm curious how the port went.

I think the PSN updates happen later in the day unless they changed it.

question about mass effect 1:

do i need to worry about *buying* weapons/items/upgrades early on (played for about 5 hours so far, really fun)? or will i be ok with just using stuff i find in the world?

that's the one thing thats sort of bugged me about RPGs, inventory. hate having the "you're probably underpowered/could be a lot better/why is this guy taking so long to die? maybe i've fucked up somewhere" voice in the back of my head.

i'd check the dude in the engineering bay of the normandy occasionally. i think you can only get spectre gear from him, which is the best brand of weapon in the game. he starts selling that pretty late in the game though.

otherwise, don't worry about buying gear. you'll find great stuff just lying around in crates and malfunctioning objects.

The inventory system in ME1 was so infuriating and dumb to use. And gearing up your squad was a hassle. I am glad that got improved in ME2. The combat mechanics is also a large improvement over ME1. Also the Mako missions were annoying with all these stupid mountains that took forever to get over. Otherwise I thought the story of ME1 was slightly better than in ME2, although some missions in ME2 were great, mainly the recruitment missions of Jack and Tali are always fun to play with tons of fighting.

Dunno if the DLC missions are included in teh PS3 version, if not the Shadow Broker and Overlord mission packs are well worth it. The weapon pack is also nice, love the Mattock rifle, has such a manly sound and makes me feel like a badass.
