Little Plastic Pilot...

I dunno if this has been discussed before...but there's this electronic music group called Little Plastic Pilot who TOTALLY RIP OFF BOC!!

Now, most electronic music music I listen to is rather similar is style and sound...but these guys are an exact carbon copy. It makes me want to vomit.

Bwahahah! Great find. It's kind of fun actually, since it takes a few moments to figure out which BoC song he's ripping off in each track.

i found it on amazon.com first...i bothered reading someone's "best albums of '05" list...and since i listen to BOC, there was a blurb on how much the same they sounded.

You don't think? That track I linked to does indeed sound like an 'epic boards of canada'. It's not terrible, but it's certainly a rip-off of style imo.

I might actually go see this guy on thursday night...more out of curiosity than anything else. I believe he's playing at the ICA.

It's definitely informed by their style and completely unoriginal, but like Lumpenprol said with LPP you can actually name specific tracks that he's ripping off. Shameful!

I wouldn't call nathan fake a boc rip-off and I think it's a bit harsh to call somebody an unoriginal rip-off based on one track you heard.

The sky was pink happened to be his first real 'hit' (after outhouse), mainly because of the holden remix.

Anyway maybe you should check him out first, go see him play at a club or something, before you pass judegement.

BoC steals things aswell...i mean is inspired and borrows. still track 10 is nice i dunno if it reminds me of any track by BoC at first i thought poppy seed remix but i dunno i think im wrong

Fair point, I don't know much about the guy. If I can make it to his thursday gig, I will, and then I'll pass judgement all over the shop (because I'll be entitled).
