Recent Autechre Live Performances

Recommended Posts

So I've been following Sean and Rob for years, I got pretty much all their releases (Incunabula, LP5, Confield and Gantz Graf being my personal favourites) and I got the chance to catch em live pretty soon for the first time.

I just wonder what their live performances are like these days and if there are any samples available.

I guess they don't make live versions/jams of Oversteps/Move of Ten tracks (by the way I couldn't really get into Oversteps but I DID like Move of Ten much more) and surely not older stuff?

So I guess they just improvise with original, unreleased sound material every time using MAX and/or their own software each time? And if so, does that fall into the nearly beatless Oversteps territory or what? Thanks alot.

Nothing improvised, all pre-programmed but triggered live in a slightly different manner each night

Basically no recognizable songs from albums but there are occasional elements from things like LCC etc but barely recognizable

The Oversteps tour has been predominantly beat-orientated, there hasn't really been any ambient sections at all thus far

the melbourne set is the definitive 'clean' recording but the domino set is far more intense and is still my fave

the underlying tracks are the same in different orders and length however both of these sets are very different and theres some crazy shit going on over the top which sounds very live to my ears

Beat-oriented for sure. The Australian shows anyway had a couple of Quaristice tracks thrown in like WNSN (probably the most ambient it got) and chenc9.

Yeah it was bangin a lot like Untilted imo. Really snappy
