..recommend me some. i think i made an identical thread a while back but i cant find it. some of my favorites (off the top of my head)-

 

bbc captain beefheart doc

jandek on corwood

dig!

bbc harry partch doc

alchemists of sound

scott walker 30 century man (actually i thought it kind of sucked but its good to have a walker documentary.)

be here to love me (townes van zandt doc)

lou reed american masters (pbs)

kraftwerk and the electronic revolution

a can & krautrock doc that i cant remember the name of...

 

i need some more! im interested in all types of music, point me in the direction of some you like

ive seen all but the electro wars doc. that one looks trendy but interesting. the wesley willis doc was great..anything wesley willis just makes me smile. my heart goes out to the big guy and all that he had to deal with..awesome public access doc on him-

The only shitty thing about it is that Manuel Gottsching isn't in the documentary. He's far more important than Amon Duul II.

great intro to 'be here to love me.' i dont think theres any romanticism in living fast and dying young, its just sad, but there are a lot of great musicians that did, and i think its important that their lives avoid cliche (even tho their deaths fed into it..)

ive actually seen that one and was kind of disappointed. i love roky and all the music hes produced but was just underwhelmed..it just felt hollow in some way. the director referencing goodfellas in his editing was really annoying...

 

bad doc with good parts imho
