No. It's the elephant in the room when it comes to mass media discourse. There is relatively no questioning of this fundamental question in any mainstream reporting these days; not to mention the fact that the entire occupation is illegal under United States law since there was no formal declaration of war by Congress. This whole operation displays a huge disregard for legal protocol, which is profoundly upsetting considering that it is being carried out by the primary branches of the government.

With that in mind, let's not forget that consent is not the absence of "no" so much as the presence of "yes".
