Because the prices are nuts. $25.50 for 4 hours! And Ottawa only had 4 bike docking stations for the entire city. So you have to walk several kilometers from your house to the bike, and then you can only ride to one of 3 other destinations, then walk from there to where you're really going. Useless and overpriced. The bus only costs $2.50, and there are stops every 250m.

Maybe this is OK for tourists with money to blow, but for regular use, a used bike is so much cheaper and more convenient.

Yeah I guess 4 stations vs 500 makes a difference. Continue to push the idea to your city reps. If you come to Montreal you'll see that about 1 out of each 3-4 bikers is using a BIXI.

Do you actually use those Bixi's, Philip? I have never used one of them, in fact.

But you live in a ghetto far away from the bulge of bixi stations lol
