meals for a dollar

there once was a time when i worked at a gas station and ate little debbie snacks for meals. on good days, i could afford cheetos crackers n cheese and perhaps a drink. but i'm looking for more. a hot meal for a dollar gives me a boner.

so i'm eating some box mac n cheese i got at aldi's for under a dollar. plenty of food for me and the girl for dinner, plus we'll supplement with some of whatever else is around. there are also the instant potatoes at aldi's that are <$1 as well.

the third level of eating a meal for a dollar comes from my dad, and one i hope will inspire everyone to be a cheap ass motherfucker. it's tomato paste, potatoes and whatever meat/corn/peppers/whatever you want to throw in. almost like chili, but not really. he made roughly 10 servings for like $6. add some cheese and you're fucking set.

what else can i make in large quantities for absurdly small amounts of moneys? halp me wattum

bad idea. just save up your dough and buy quality stuff like blueberries/broccoli/bananas/etc. read the Ganghi biography to find out what he ate each day (not much but it was quality)

when it comes to food, this is exactly what i think.

red beans and rice.

You can do all sorts of stuff with water & a bag of flour. Most of it even results in food!

leaves and acorns are free

A big bag brown rice (healthy and tastier than white rice IMHO) is cheap as fuck and can make a lot of food. Add a few things in there for flavor and your eating on the cheap cheap.

i actually don't like tuna. salmons cool though, ya gotta spend another 50 cents

really cheap bolognese-alike for two for about $2

really cheap pasta, maybe penne or spaghetti

really cheap powder/can tomato soup

an onion and a bell pepper

finely chop onion and bell pepper and fry (i'm presuming you have butter or oil or something)

boil pasta, make soup

drain pasta and add soup to pasta pot.

add onion and bell pepper.

if you're rich you can add pepper

if you're a millionaire you can add basil and oregano

simmer for about 2 mins

really cheap carbonara-alike for two for about $3

really cheap pasta, maybe penne or spaghetti

really cheap powder/can chicken soup

bacon and some baby button mushrooms and an onion

fry bacon until not-quite crispy, then remove fat and chop into long thin strips along the grain of the meat

finely chop onion and fry along with baby button mushrooms with the bacon fat. when done discard the fat.

boil pasta, make soup

drain pasta and add soup to pasta pot.

add bacon, onion, mushrooms

if you're rich you can add pepper

if you're a millionaire you can add cream

simmer for about 2 mins
