if you come across an article you want to read in Safari, but not now, you summon a bookmarklet which will save it to your instapaper account for later consumption. then in the app, you'll have the article as plain text with images, but sans ads etc.

Is there any advantage to using instapaper over read it later? I've been using read it later for quite a while now.

If I had an iPad I would be all over this. I don't know how great it would be on the touch though, with the limited screen real estate.

IP and RIL both seem to be nice enough. IP has an iPad app though.

i think the difference is that IP seems to be geared towards text based pages and RIL is geared towards more "multimedia content enhanced" (lol marketing speech) web pages.

I've tried a few apps for writing music and haven't been impressed by anything. Apart from making calls, I use my phone to look at news, make reservations and play games. Here's a few of my most used apps.

It crashed yesterday on my 3GS when I was adding too many reverbs. So it might work but it will be not very stable I guess / you will not be able to add many modules. If you and your friend shared the same itunes account you could share it but if not all of his data will be erased first before he can use your account. The best way would be to try it and then to refund if it does not work

i got an ipad today. my first real apple product (not counting my ancient first generation ipod nano), and it works great so far.

what sucks though is that my bank won't let me access the app store because of some security crap called "verified by visa". i've encountered this before, so i went to their

homepage to get it fixed, turns out it's down, with no notice on when it might be back up. fuck you swedbank.

guess i'll just youtube on it or something.

jailbreak it so you don't need the appstore anymore to install apps

that would eventually lead to me getting every goddamn app on the planet and using them for about 10 seconds each before moving on to the next one.

it's crazy how real it feels, like there's actually a tiny ball inside the ipad.

The synth is pretty cool (4 times the same) and i like the fact you can assign different parameters to the the two X/Y pads (that can be linked to the accelerometers by the way).

You can also sample sounds from the iphone's mic/line-in (doesn't work on my iphone though :( ).

And the piano roll is the only one that is really usable with the iphone. It's really well done, and it has nothing to do with, for example, fingerbeat's piano roll which is a fucking pain in the ass because NOTES ARE TOO DAMN LITTLE. But this one is just fine.

I've tested several apps for making music (i just lay down a pattern every now and then…), and this one is the only one you can actually make a whole song with.

Just buy it. blindfolded. Instead of buying the reactable app, that will ram as hell once you've put 2 sequencers.

edit: as far as i know, there are no compressors…
