this whole 3d thing is getting bigger than i expected.

i think it's fine when it comes to animation films for kids, where the 3d effect has greater expression and finds its meaning, but seems like the tendency is to bring everything in 3d nowadays.

what is it that the 3d brings to the movies other than just the experience? why such rush when it has been proven that 3d effect can cause some physical problems and hurt the eyes, especially with kids?

I'm already bored of all the 3D. It's like the Wii - fun for a while, gets boring fast.

wii it's another stupid tendency.

how 'realistic' gaming experience needs to become until people just say 'fuck this, with such effort i can just go outside and play real tennis or practice real dancing'?

i didn't say that.

it's not that i condemn 3d movies or hate them.

i don't like that some movies are being made to be screened exclusively in 3d mode, when one should have the option to watch either the 3d or 2d version. as simple as that.

plus i have seen 3d movies already and some of those new 3d TVs that don't require glasses to be watched, and there are plenty of flaws in it's presentation. it's still an experimental technology.

This gives me an excuse to go to the cinema and watch them with my kid. I hope they screen them IV-VI-1-3. If it's I-VI they can fuck off. All the big twists are ruined by the prequels.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

What movie is exclusively 3D?

Also this star wars thing is just a cash in... as far as Im concerned if its not filmed in 3D, it shouldnt presented in 3D

what a surprise!

I think it's cool, though. I wanna see ep 4-6 on the big screen again!

You're gonna have at least a 5 year wait until IV-VI come out...

How many people you know can do those things on a moment's notice, anytime, and in the comfort of their homes?

LOL @ 'big twists' - the only twists to really speak of in Star Wars was the 'I am your father' revelation in V, and 'Leia is your sister' in VI. Add to the fact that the audience knowing the truth but the characters in the film don't almost makes it more delicious to watch Luke and Leia kiss :emotawesomepm9:

Unfortunately, Lucas wants us to wade through I-III before we get to IV-VI. I reckon it has more to do with the fact the newer movies were created 100% digitally, and probably easier to adapt to 3D than the older films, while digitally restored now, don't have their assets set up for an easy conversion to 3D. Watch the huge spike in attendance when IV finally hits versus I-III.

For all the haters, I would wager to guess that these movies will be the first ones to really convince people of the merits of 3D (beyond what Avatar did), and also do 3D better than any film before them.

why would you want to play tennis at home? there are specific places for its practice and nowadays it's pretty accessible and cheap to do so.

But they weren't filmed in 3D, postop 3D looks like shit.....

like the karaoke of film making, taking the vocals out of a track equates putting depth in a film when it wasn't there to begin with....

I do believe in magick though, ONJ for LYF!

Holy shit, this took them forever to officially announce. I remember hearing about this back in the late 90s early 00s...

i love 3d movies when they are done properly. I'm just not convinced that a 2d movie being converted to 3d will look good enough to charge $15 for. Piranha 3d is the only conversion i've seen and it was noticeably worse looking than other live action 3d movies,

Fuck George Lucas, not only did he rape our childhoods over 4 times, he also influenced a new wave of filmmakers to take a cue from his shitty money generating machine. there are so many stupid prequels now adays that its overwhelming.

rendered 3D is not the same as proper 3D

however I think it may add a little something to the end of Jedi if they do it right

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of nerds suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

hey that's true, i never thought about it like that, probably because i had only seen them in the order in which they were made. So really if you recommend the films to a new viewer, one should state that 3-6 must be viewed first.

Also i agree with you on the kid tip, bloody Lucas and his perpetual shakedowns.

---

as to whether i think that they should be viewed at all, well i don't like this half arsed layered 2-d in 3-d space. Call me when something fully computer generated (and great) comes out. Otherwise i'm good with 2d
