Shackleton - Fabric 55

This is fucking awesome, it's obviously a live mix. Tracks build as they go along, some sound recognisable to their original versions, others don't. Bits of tracks pop up all over the place, and new sounds and basslines do too. If you like his MAH mix then you'll love this, as it's in a similar flavour to that.

i'll have to check it out, he was just on the cover of the new Wire magazine.

just finished listening to it, i don't know if its as good as 3eps, but i think it's still very enjoyable. I could do without the overload of bongo samples however

hey i dont mind congas or bongos, i own a conga drum i love the sound of it. it's the presety sounding sampling library bongos that sound very dry and familiar that i don't like and im quite surprised Shackelton doesn't rein in those bongos a little on this lp!

It's not as good as 3EPs, but 3EPs is fucking amazing. This is still one of my favourite releases of the year though

i would concur with this statement re: bongos and add that i have similar feelings regarding the Djembe and the Bodhrán.

i do not understand the appeal of Shackleton at all. I heard the first 15 min of this mix. got sorta bored. turned it off.
