Also, imo Das Racist is okay. If I had to pick between listening to a full album of either them, or one of the odd future kids, I would probably choose Das Racist, but given a choice I probably wouldn't pick either.

they seriously exemplify comedy music as a viable genre. the need for humor doesn't hinder the music itself whatsoever—at some times, it's almost like a monty python musical; at other times, the humor is barely there in its subtlety.

flight of the conchords might be another exception, though they only have a few songs i'd listen for the music rather than the comedy.

being a huge fan of the Tenacious D HBO series era the Tenacious D movie was really disappointing by comparison but Flight Of The Concords is fucking facepalm inducing

These guys are alright and a couple of their tracks are pretty good. They're just not that funny or insightful. There are a ton of acts who display tons more genuine wit than these dudes.

Someone on this board interned at Pitchfork once, and they shed some light on the rating system and how it's based on who they can book for their festival. How do they choose their favorites in the first place? I mean, if they're not exactly talent scouts, they seem to really like some flash-in-the-pan shit.

Because I'm bringing up a band that some WATMMers might not have given a chance but would like, but I'm not the kind of dick who would try and argue opinion. Within the context of the show, I LOVE Flight of the Conchords, but they just so happen to be a band whose music I'm really selective about. Pretty simple, bro dude
