For me it has to be... Ko-Wreck Technique - Metro Dade (Plaid Mix). Weird thing only Plaid can do (and early tbd of course).. is make me wanna smile and cry and the same time.

few more for fun...

btw sirch, the time i bought the Addie Brik mix i was going down Smallfish records in London quite alot buying tons of tunes (ahh, Stasis on the decks doing a scratch). Remember travelling with those heavy bags of 12-inches back home at least once a month.. happy days :)

did you happen to attend the gig Plaid did in the shop? circa May 2001 after Double Figure had been released?

wicked little intimate laptop show. they played a lot of unreleased/unheard stuff, aswell as live versions of tracks from Double Figure.

and it was free! :) well worth the train fare. wish i'd have gotten a copy signed now, but couldn't be arsed queuing up at the time..

the place was rammed! plus it seemed kinda wack to ask for their signature, y'know..

Nahh mate didn't go to any of the gigs at the shop :( wished i had've as they were free like you said and i really got on with Nick and the rest on the guys at the shop. Didn't Autechre do a free night at Smallfish? and Posthuman done a few nights there too. I wouldn't worry to much about the signed record.. you got the memories and album :)

dunno about Autechre mate.. but Posthuman most probably have done.

yeah, still got the memories. what a time that was! (2000-2001)

you had to get down early though cos as you know it's only a small shop eh.

people were spilling out onto the street. so you had to be a bit cheeky and just push your way inside. hehe..

i was a lot thinner then so it wasn't too much of a problem. lol

Red Snapper - Get Some Sleep Tiger (Plaid mix) is Plaid at their very, very best.

Oh yes. Reminding me of Red Snapper... "Seeing Red", so yummy. I love(d) it, even though it's rather on the borders of WARP. (I hated their alternative stuff later...)
