A new toy I'm sure Autechre will manage to build an album with..

those 2 samples provided are a bit boring. too restrained. i really want to hear someone go nuts on that thing so we can hear the extremes of what it can do. of course it can pitch shift, loop, chop, time stretch... lots of hard/software can do that. lets hear the really freaky stuff.

you can morph between to patches or locks with the fader but apart from that I still haven't heard anything I can't do with my Kaoss pad 3 sequenced by the Monomachine

still not convinced as this isn't a brainchild of the late great Daniel Hanssen but more something designed to meet the demands from the Elektron user group

a fancy DJ toy or a creative instrument?

only time will tell

the front of that new unit looks a bit toooooo busy to me!

it's only because they've designed it so there's no separation between the sections on unit. bad aesthetic design if you ask me....a first from Elektron, because their stuff is normally very well designed both from a usability and aesthetic standpoint (imo).

this sounds like an airplane landing on a minefield

To be honest, Elektron's demos have always been "restrained". Nothing that would ever show how deep and experimental things can get. The current homepage for the Octatrack is starting to reveal features weekly now. Since I love my Machinedrum UW more than anything else in my studio, I have no doubt that this will be amazing. I'm always discovering new tricks to do with the MD.

I've always held out against the Monomachine, but the Octatrack looks too good. Time to start saving.

yeah it looks shit, imo. but no doubt it'll be (some) fun. meh.

TAK TAK TAK = the obvious sound of AE using elektron gear
