How comes folks don't comment YLC no more?

YLC seems dead now. Even the really selfish cunts (you know who you are lol) who use to pimp their music and take praise and couldn't be assed to give any comments back ain't getting no love. What's the dealio people?

if someone finds more than 0.2 seconds of an ekt track unpleasant they will reply with some sort of sarcastic/insulting comment before spending 2 months getting into autechre's latest ketamine binge

The feedback, when it happens, is rarely useful. 'Cool track bro' and 'this is shit,you aren't very good' don't get anyone anywhere.

Someone went through and rated a whole bunch of YLC 1 star, so don't take it personally.

I think I post a fair bit of comments on people's tracks.

I figure a lot of music makers are here for promotion or feedback or learning instead of finding new listening material, & a lot of the ones who don't make music aren't interested in listening to random people on the internet. The ones who do want to listen can't listen to everything because there's so much of it (I know all of the random-internet-person albums I have saved on my computer were picked at random out of hundreds I saw advertised). Goes for any music forum, really.

ylc has been dead for quite a while now promo, no offence meant to any contributors, but the quality has gone generally downhill in the last year or so, the stalwarts of ylc hardly ever post anything and the reviews are generally laughable with nothing constructive or meaningful included. I hardly post there myself any more....

Ive thinking of just not posting in there anymore. I think I should stop

Ironically I always get the most/best feedback from non-music forums. Might be a too many cooks thing going on.

Too many selfish people unfortunately my friend. I've been here long enough to know that most folks are happy to take praise/comments on YLC but don't always give it back. Still that's just the way of the world and I carry on being a good spirit to all even though so many don't deserve it lol.

There was a time when I gave a lot of feedback in YLC, and I still listen sometimes, but I've fallen off lately. School and general business keep me away from my own music too much, let alone time to review other peoples. I also felt like I wasn't really getting much feedback that was of use.

I do listen and give feedback to people that post stuff in chatmm a lot though.
