I have numerous gay friends and live in the gay capital of England and I say "that's well gay" all the time. In the past I have defended myself against accusations of casual homophobia by pointing out that "gay" in this context simply means "rubbish" and has nothing to do with homosexuality in the same way that "gay" once meant "happy and carefree" but has come to mean putting your penis in another man's bottomhole.

Though over the last year or so that argument has been made redundant by the fact that I have just been saying "that's well homosexual" instead.
