VPN Proxy Accounts

I'm thinking about offering VPN proxy accounts for sale to WATMM users.

You get:

Complete connection encryption.

Protection from Firesheep, packet sniffers, and other connection monitoring software.

Protection from ISP logging.

Access to Hulu, TheDailyShow, and other US-only services.

The ability to bypass ISP torrent speed throttling.

Ability to bypass government blacklists if you're living in a internet-hostile country, like China or Australia.

Works anywhere you have admin access on a computer, Mac, Linux, or Windows. (ie: your laptop at home, work, school, on Starbucks wifi, etc).

Unlimited bandwidth on a 100Mbit connection.

The price is $12/month, and does not automatically renew.

Alternatively, if you don't intend to download much, just use Facebook, surf the web, etc, I can offer a 10 gig/month account for $4/month.

What I need to know is: Would you sign up? If the answer is no, that's cool, tell me why.

Say, hypothetically, that I don't know a lot about techmolology and interwebs. Would this give chaosmachine the ability to know that I look at BBW porn all day?

the ones i do know about are limited (only giving away a few accounts a month) or ad-supported / bandwidth limited. also, you never know what they're logging or doing with your info...

yeah, it's as legal as signing up for web hosting, an email account, or anything else like that.

doesn't that work only in the UK?

if there's a lot of interest, i will order a uk server. at the moment, i'm planning on using a datacenter close to new york.

interesting, thanks. the comments mention they're slow, which is what i figured. anyone running a free service is probably capping or filtering heavily. like i said, not really trustworthy.

i had nothing to do with the release of firesheep, people were asking for vpn accounts, so i realized there might be enough demand to start a service.

I've been using vpn for over four years when uploading client files, it's the only way to get past the great firewall of china. I use witopia, they have multiple servers all over the world but it seems they are often overloaded, or the Chinese govt has figured out how to block them. I would be interested however it would have to be demonstrably faster than witopia, and I'd prefer if the payment were annual and cheaper (witopia is $48/year iirc). Cool idea though, I doubt the Chinese govt. would get wise to a single vpn used by one person.

That price is very good specially for those speeds, I've tried a few VPN for watching on hulu and half the time they didn't work and when they did were very slow -40KB's.
