Besides music I've given him, every song on his iPod is by Guy Manuel or Bangalter.

Daft Punk isn't awful, but all of this time I figured they actually made some of their own music. After learning that Robot Rock was completely sampled (among other songs, but especially robot rock) I don't really care for them anymore.

its not like my enjoyment of that track depends on the percentage of input. that's a damn good track.

the problem with a lot of 70's and 80's disco and funk. is that they really didn't know how to sell what should have been their main hooks. they generally abandoned them to a small percentage of the actually piece, littering the rest of the songs with sub par cliched noise, and cheesy vocals. That's why the crate diggers are so useful. They cut away the pointless audio and just leave the gold.

It is a shame though that they don't just write their own decent funk/disco, but not many people are that original really. heh/. especially in the pop world.
