given the kind of year this douchebag has had, the odds of this album being any good were pretty slim.

but hat's off. kanye's done it again. this might be his best album. every track is amazing.

I heard there was a New & Upcoming Releases subforum somewhere. Even a thread for this very album. Am I wrong?

I was just listening to Forever with Drake and Lil Wayne and Eminem, the Kanye verse is just diabolical, you really shouldn't be phoning in verses on posse cuts but I suppose he is a complete cunt

yes, really. i can hazard a guess: "phoning" is like "name-dropping" or something equally tacky, and a "posse cut" is like an ensemble cast for a movie, bunch of famous dudes you're tired of altogether in one movie because they sell tickets. but this doesn't translate into a cohesive fact in my mind -- what did he do that offended you where? he did something tacky? of course he did !

i downloaded that album because of the title + the cover image. i hated it. and i rarely hate anything i download deliberately (as opposed to the radio...)

wat. Phoning in is not a hip hop expression , but a common one used even by whites . It means to do something half-assed as if it was done without a care; or over the phone.

A friend played this album for me recently and I loved it. The feel of 'Runaway' really strikes me, it has a wonderful sense of reckless abandon to it which I guess is his MO or at least image and 'Lost in the world' is good fun. I'd never bothered to listen to Kanye before and was surprised hearing this. After listening to a bit of his older tracks 'Drunken hot girls' and a few others I really liked. Personally I like his awkward rhymes and he uses a lot of good tracks for his instrumentals. That being said the originals are usually more powerful than his versions, which are still pretty good.

Everytime i hear Kaye West, i think of the southpark episode :p i even have the gayfich song on my iphone.(his best track ever ;-)

I liked Kanye when he was content being a behind the scenes producer, his beats and production are pretty good (at least they used to be idk about his newer stuff) but his flow and rhymes are terrible.
