I chuckled at the statement they've never put out a dance album - true, but tracks like Trapped, We've Started Up, Midas Touch, etc. sure as hell are danceable!

I love TCH. Don't understand the hate.

What would be the point of "Geogaddi II"? Really. This would make it a sequel.

Because of this, you would not find it as good as the original. because of this, the album would replace the hate directed at TCH (which I fucking love).

That is a guarantee.

I think most people wanted a Geogaddi 2 as in "Geogaddi is MHTRTC 2" in terms of progression, even though it's completely different in style. Campfire can easily be misinterpreted as a step backwards from what they accomplished cause the little "complexities" are so well hidden (sometimes a little too well for me, plus I don't like guitars)

I've never thought of any of their releases as 'sequels' to each other, but more as separate works that stand on their own.

IF people want a sequel, it's a sequel to mhtrtc that they want. and what would be wrong with moving back a little more in that direction? they've had a handful of releases since then to buffer it out. i'd love to hear a new take on their old sound. Those are still the songs that give me boners.

I'm sure any BoC fan would love for them to return to their MHTRTC sound, but realistically we can't expect that since as artists, they are moving forward constantly - I can't even begin to imagine what their latest material sounds like, and the irony is that once the Silence is broken and a new album comes out, that sound that is new and fresh to us is probably old hat to Mike and Marcus and they'll have moved on.

Mike is turning 40 this year, here's what happens: There IS gonna be new BoC and they made it so their new partners like it. It will be all family friendly, less creepy backwards voices - they wouldn't wanna upset the kids - and more danceable beats for the girls. Sometimes they let their girls into the studio so they could listen to the new tunes and tell them what they think, and they allow the girls to add elements of their own or remove the ones they don't like. Oh boy, so many guitar samples! But what's that, Susie, you want me to sample your voice and make it sound better using AUTOTUNE? Oh you want the effect that makes you sound like a robot from space because you like bees? Ahh, so you only said you were into our music because you heard the Solange track? I see! Thanks honey, you really are my muse!

LOL, I highly doubt that, but let's cross our fingers and toes that it doesn't happen!

it obviously won't, tho.. it will be as different to TCH as TCH was to Geo and MHTRTC.... but hopefuflly it won't be even worse... and will be better.

This song is fantastic though.

TCH is the best boc album end of story. haters of TCH are like autechre haters. they just dont know WHAT THEYRE DOING. WHAT AM I LISTENING TO I DONT KNOW? WHAT ARE THESE NOISES? MY CONSCIOSNESS LEVEL IS TOO LOW TO COMPREHEND.

Personally if they were going to return to anything, I'd be happy be with a return to IABPOITC - easily my favorite thing from them. MHTRTC is still my favorite full-length album though.

However, I'd rather see them take another turn sideways, and come out with something different again, which I believe is probably part of the reason it's taking them so long to put the album out. It's not easy to switch directions musically, especially not when you have the attention to detail BOC tend to put into each effort. Fingers crossed for before then end of summer - a couple fo joints and a nice walk with new material on the MP3 player would be wonderful.

what about incredible string band minus vocals? i'd go for that.

An excellent point, since nobody likes Geogaddi anyway, and sequels don't make money and are uninteresting.

I like the idea of "Music's Children Have the Right to Children," but I'm more interested in what BoC have in store after TCH, since they mentioned in one of their interviews that one of their goals is to make each album sound like it had been made before it's predecessor. TCH sounds like it had been made before Geogaddi, being less complicated and densely layered, but the musical progressions sound more mature than MHTRTC.

Have any of you bought the so-called Japanese import of TCH on Amazon.com? It definitely says it's the import from japan, but the tracklisting on the website does not include Macquarie Ridge. I'm not sure if this is because they DO indeed have the import, but for whatever reason it isn't the one with the bonus track, or if they simply were lazy and used the same tracklisting from the regular release. I don't really want to spend $35-$40 to find out.

I have it, and yes, it does come with Macquarie Ridge on the disc. As long as it's clearly the Japanese release, you should be good. And that price is about right, considering shipping from Japan, etc (I got it from HMV Japan).
