soundwave
its nice to dream about classic vintage gear but sadly these are now more collectors items for folk with more expendable income than musical talant. Just like classic cars some of the novelty can ware off very quickly when you actually try these things in the flesh and realise thier high price is more for the exclusiveness than whats in the box and thats before we get into rare parts (not so much an issue these days) and specialist repair costs ARP2600 or M5? I'll take the Scottish play. Guest mafted
idk , a true analog modular is going to rip your head open with the amount of sounds it can make.. like, sounds no one has heard before. they're not limited to microchip presets.. but actual aural physics. i'd think a true connoisseur would enjoy the hell out of it. The last ARP 2600 on Vemia went for 3231 Sterling. The Macbeth M5N cost more than that new, before Ken stopped production of them. Accounting for inflation, you could probably get an ARP 2600 nowadays for cheaper than when they first went on sale.
