Oh yeah, Joffrey is deifnetly at the top, but I would love to see Tyrion kill Jamie because of what Jamie done to him and his misses. What a cuntbag.

favs atm: tyrion, jorah mormont (seems like a stand up guy), arya and jon snow (mostly because of his story potential, the actor better get his shit together)

actually i forgot tywin lannister. i know he hasn't got much screentime yet, but charles dance is fucking awesome in everything he does, and that scene where he was gutting the deer... fuck, so understated yet packed with meaning. you immediately know that this guy is a badass who just gets shit done. jonn seems to have pulled his shit together, acting-wise, in the last 2 episodes. not as much as robb, but he's definitely better.

i'm guessing when they showed the pudgy bodyguard guy's 18" horsecock, it was foreshadowing. the payoff being when he rapes joffrey till his eyeballs fall out. i havent read the books or anything but im pretty sure this is what will happen.

I'm caught up through episode 6, which is the most recent available on the street here in China. Really good show, it had a bit of a rocky start but now I'm well into it. While I typically like Sean Bean, I'm already tired of him, so I don't mind what's coming. What a dumbass.

Funny that within the 6 episodes I've watched it already kicks the ass of any Tolkien work apart from The Hobbit.

Obvious troll is obvious but seriously the show gets so much right that Tolkien's drily asexual fantasy world avoided. All the characters are interesting, including the hookers, with vices and virtues and appetites...even the Sopranos couldn't get that right, the strippers in Tony's club were never more than eye candy. And cursing is used well, unlike Deadwood which went overboard.

If you want the ultimate in fantasy world meets gritty reality of human vice, plus actual a-list writing, you cant go far past this guy

Gotta admit I'm already pretty impatient for the second season. It really is great writing. Where the budget or whatever have you in the show slightly drags the writing is interesting enough that I don't mind it. I was surprised that the computer generated graphics in the finale of the finale were really high quality and didn't seem cheesy at all in my opinion.

Nice finale. I kinda guessed how it would end. It looks like Daenerys will kick some ass with three dragons at her side. With the nasties from the north and dragons from the south it looks like king Joffrey will be in the middle. And he further cemented his position as a sadistic prick. If I were Sansa I would cut his throat the first chance I'd got.

Edit: Slightly OT, but as the salon.com article said, I hope the success of this show will lead to more adaptations of novels, especially HBO quality ones. I would love to see something similar done to the Hyperion series by Simmons. More sci-fi wanted!
