Awesome selection so far. Some of my favorite garage/garage-esque tracks that haven't been mentioned:

I though music discussion is exactly the kind of subforum for this. Why do we need to section everything off.

Would put a fairly sizable amount of money on that Ghost tune being El B, it sounds exactly like him. Pretty sure Ghost was him and a couple of others contributing, which that Discogs entry would seem to confirm.

Top thread by the way lads

i put good money on everyone here absolutely hating UK Garage at its peak (1999 - 2002).

yaknow because we had Go Plastic, Confield, Geogaddi and Drukqs

Funny what nostalgia does

Oh yeah, totally, I hated it then. But I don't think it's just nostalgia - garage, more than any other form of urban dance music, got poor mainstream coverage. From what I remember being about 17/18, the stuff that crossed over was the horrendous Craig David/Sweet Female Attitude shit that was really, really bad. Champange/cocaine/smart shoes in a club style. I think that put most people off as that's all they were exposed to. I might be wrong of course, but that's how it seemed from my experience. Love it now, and I reckon if I'd of heard most of the garage tunes I really like back then I would of dug it. Very misunderstood genre.

Some of you must know St Germain (the french nu jazz producer). I'm currently listening to his debut album that came out in 1995 and I have never noticed until now that he produced some UK Garage influenced tracks. It almost sounds like he is one of the first dubstep innovators or something (hear the dub elements and the garage beats).

is there a sub genre name for the type of garage that basically has a 4 on the floor techno beat that is missing a few down beats? some of 2562's stuff is like this, where it kind of plays on the expectations of your ears
