remind me Mortician in some way,   but like , on a different canvas.  and even more on the grindcore side. and faster.

edit : actually really digging it . lovely concept . vocals sounds (the singing, not the samples) pushing a step forward compared to the little few I know from this kind of metal)

edit : the sections focusing on babies / newborn surgery, (if i understand correctly)...  sick !

....edit :listened from start to end and now feeling sickness because of the surgery description samples . to be consumed in moderation lol

Def influenced by mortician, created a whole 'genre' (together with anal birth) called gorenoise wich many people still enjoy making this day

Check out his other stuff, urine festival and last days of humanity if you want to hear more 😁

Kenny Grohowski, one of my favorite drummers and definitely one of the best Kenny Gs.

(I know it’s in the title, but it doesn’t show up well on mobile: OG Kenny G and his son play on this track too. Amazing)

Haha yeah - when I noticed the drummer's name I was like "hey wait a minute... did I just get punked?"  Crazy that they got THE Kenny G.  But apparently his son's a huge metal fan, and Grohowski is a major player in the jazz scene too, so it all adds up.  I've really been enjoying their discog.  Phenomenal playing and musical arrangements.  Music theory out the ass.

I saw Grohowski drum with Secret Chiefs 3 a ton about 10-15 years ago. Collectively probably the best shows I’ve been to.

I’m sure I posted a clip in here of him tearing it up on “Brazen Serpent” but I can’t find anything now.

Cool!  I saw them in Vancouver maybe 10 years ago, possibly with him drumming?  Did he also drum in Cephalic Carnage?  I had it in my head that the drummer from that band was playing with Trey in SC3.  The sound for them was not the greatest, but the opening band blew me away.  Wish I could remember their name.

what's the consensus here on CHAT PILE? do they belong in a metal thread?

i'm not overly familiar with their previous work, but i've been bumping the new album a ton. they have a specific sound that i've been seeking out for years.

Don’t know if this was posted before, it was way under my radar.  Blackened death metal re: some lovecraftian mollusk god? Yes, please.

Track titles are perfection.

Thanks, Slugdge.

edit: gets a little ‘core and prog here and there but I’m not minding too much.

A friend of mine expressed interest in making a collaborative metal EP leaning on the more extreme side of things.  So I made a playlist of inspiration on the most metal streaming site this side of hell--Spotify.  He's a particularly strong singer, so I included a lot of stuff that emphasizes that.  Anyway, I thought it would be a waste to not share it with anyone else, so here it is for those who want it:
