Jeff Mills

I think sometimes the 909s he uses are borrowed from promoters and organisers etc, so he often has slightly different ones, or modified ones like that rackmount one.

He's currently having a custom drum machine made by Yuri Suzuki for him to use in a live performance.

The drum machine solo is OK I guess (too long for its own good tbh), but when the synths come in it's awesome! Is this any known track?

Retro seems a bit misplaced for someone like Mills though, did he ever stop using that 909 in his livesets? Not sure, I'm not a huge follower :)

It was a special event. He has tons of 909 machines but this one, first time I ever see him using it live. I mean, it's quite huge and when I said retro, I meant: retro-looking box. It's probably an old-school edition of the 909 that he bought a long time ago, but who knows? I thought someone would identify the model.

Yeah that's closer to the typical model I've seen him using over the years.
