Aye, that's the feeling I'm left with the most. The scenes of him just sitting there on his fat arse, talking bullshit about poetry are genuinely horrific.

I'd love him to watch these and have an epiphany, but he never will.

Only about 5% of his jokes are really worth doing but the actual critique is masterful

when they're funny they're REALLY funny, but overall you're right. the critique is what i like about it.

i did laugh my ass off at "even ray charles saw that one coming! and he doesn't know anything about star wars!"

Part I didn't really do it for me. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to watch the rest of the review. Then I started Part II and 40 seconds into it I lol'd heartedly at him raping his cat.

so obi wan is mad at anakin for killing children, also known as "younglings", so we don't have to use the phrase "killing children" in a movie made for...children

oddly Lucas has continued the awkward and unnecessary replacement of children with 'younglings' in the Clone wars cartoon series and i could have sworn i've heard it in other places too (possibly in star wars novelizations )

i'm damn curious: do you think Lucas has watched these? at least a couple of them?

i mean, he would never admit it. but i bet late at night, alone in his mansion, he's watched at least one of these. maybe even the entire series.

i know the dude cares what people think of him, and these reviews have gotten massive attention on the internet. how could he resist watching them to at least know what all the fuss is about?

the question then is: does he watch only one or two before his ego takes over and says 'this plinkett guy is full of crap' and switches them off, or does he actually watch the whole series and maybe learn something about why exactly he sucks?

I think the only time you can be sure Lucas is paying attention is when he sues you :emotawesomepm9:

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

I must admit I love the bashings of these films, but I also really enjoyed them back when I first saw them in theaters. Now, keep in mind I was 6 years old when Episode I came out. Podracing was so the shit at that age. Episode II came out and I mostly didn't understand it at all, but it looked nice, same with Episode III (though I loved General Grievous).

Now, as I've gotten older I've found myself absolutely loving the original Star Wars. They were doing so much new and making such deep connections with the audience with the characters. I legitimately feel sad seeing Han Solo frozen and feel suspense when they almost get killed by the garbage compressor. Maybe I'm just trying too hard though.

Also, I really loved Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. It perfectly keeps the tone of the previous movies, pays homage to the previous movies, and I just fucking love Indiana Jones movies.

George Lucas is still okay in my book. Episode I through III aren't so much bad movies as they are let downs when trying to live up to the originals.

the over emphasis of Vader is a really good point. the movie acts like he was super important to the entire galaxy

also, the use of Lucas clips is brilliant. is amazing some of the stupid stuff he says during the interviews!!

i lol'd when lucas said "Laser sword". can't even remember anything about his movies

Yeah it wasn't too bad. Directed by Spielberg though, dont forget. Lucas just paid the bills, and probably sat on his fat arse drinking coffee and complaining because Spielberg wanted to use analog cameras instead of digital ones.

I think the review was too long but still funny throughout, maybe there was too much filler stuff. About the over emphasizing of vader, iirc the entire series was a story about him specifically. Whether or not it was intended that way from the start in the 70s, who knows. But it is what it is now.

The best part of these reviews is when he rips into Lucas. And in the first one when he asks people about the Phantom Menace characters to prove they're worthless.

When you get children (if you haven't already) or when you're able to show Star Wars movies to younglings (heh), will you show them the original ones and/or the prequels?

I for one, if I ever get kids, will only show them the originals. The prequels don't have any soul to them and are indeed, as the guy points out, not memorable at all.

the original trilogy wasn't just about vader, it was about the rebellion. vader wasn't even the main baddie in two of the films, and even in empire he was taking orders from the emperor. the thing about the original trilogy is that it actually had multiple intersecting storylines that were at least somewhat thought out, as opposed to one stupid storyline with a lot of extraneous dialog to make it seem like there is more going on.

I totally agree, but for me the originals just seem different post-prequel(lol?). Vader was better when all you knew about him was the little bits Kenobi mentioned to Luke. Gives your imagination something to wonder about, which is fun.

I do seem to remember a quote from Lucas basically saying that it's all about Vader. Of course it's a recent quote...blah.

Oh and my parents got me the prequel dvds after each one came out. They're still shrink wrapped after all these years.

OMG he does this as a running joke through all his reviews and its fucking hilarious everytime.

I think there's one part in the Star Trek (2009) review where hes trying to rap to MC Hammer and throws in to the beat "I got my cat pregnant..unh...unh" before it quickly cuts off to the next segment. I'm a Plinkett fanatic.

He is right on point about most of this though, and I remember being so pumped to see these movies when i was a young teen. I still remember thinking the Yoda light-saber fight in EP II was so awesome because I loved Yoda as a kid...and my friend watching it with me just shook his head and said "No man...wait a couple years, watch the trilogy and then rewatch this."

My friend is wise beyond his years.

I do however remember even back then that the acting was fucking horrible, especially Hayden...but Plinkett was right, I shouldn't be hating on Hayden's abilities, he had a fucking HORRIBLE script.

The one review where it shows the clip of Ewan MacGregor complaining about acting with greenscreen was awesome...and cemented my respect for him despite his participation in the film.

Yes! Exactly! Its because the sense of mystery around his origins is central to his awesomeness in the originals. Only knowing small bits allows your mind to wonder at all the badassery caused by him turning to the dark side. Now that it's all written out in cheesy over-emotional dialogue, Darth Vader just seems like a pussy now.

Whaat he reviewed the Star Trek 2009 reboot already???

yah he goes pretty easy on it too, iirc. just points out that it's not sci fi, it's action, and as an action movie it's pretty good. far better than the TNG films.

Guest Blanket Fort Collapse

Yeah could smell a mile away he wouldn't bash on the ST reboot like he did with the SW prequels. I am excited to watch this because I find Plinkett entertaining whether he is bashing shit or not his points are smart and interesting.

its still worth a watch though, plenty of funnies, like the cat one i mentioned and the best part is when he goes through all the reimaginings, rehashed or remakes of movies or popular tv franchises.
