Feedback on a site I am working

Would it be vulgar if i were to suggest fleshing the site out with pictures of myself and my pets? I'm talking like a ridiculous number of photos. I think the average person would hate it as it is.

Honestly, no. Just like random stuff of me laughing, skipping along. Others where the dogs are waiting to be fed or sniffing their own crap. Others where i'm strangling my pet and then an after-shot where everyone is laughing because it was all pretend. Stuff like that.

If I was to just stumble upon this site I wouldn't have much of an idea of what I could get from it. Is this just a test setup or the full release? Put a short to the point <title> as what you have doesn't tell me anything. I don't really like the fact that you can just keep pressing 'more' at the bottom without having some sort of pointer to where the last page finished. If you could put a flag on the listings it might be better.

Maybe whack on a site search box too.

What do you use for the running of the site?

your avatar is so friendly looking that i can't help but instantly like you even before reading anything. hah !!

I like the homepage. Doesn't look messy and tells you what you're getting into.

The feed, on the other hand, is hard to follow. I think you need a different font/style/a visible divider of some sort between the comment and the tags/heart.

Also, will people who enjoy different genres fit in on the site? I don't see much room for Hardcore, Indie, Trance, Drone, Ambient, or Noise lovers, to name a few.

Edit: Also, I already have enough trouble keeping Kaen and Kaini straight, now I have to add Kian to the mix

What do you use for the running of the site?

Well it's basically released, but we update and work on it everyday. I'll try to fix the title issues, and yeah I understand how when you go to more your not sure where the last song ended. We are using Ruby On Rails. Thanks for the feedback tho, I'll try to get that all fixed.

Thanks a lot man! On the new design I am working on I worked on fixing division between the elements of the post. The design is done, we just need to adapt it to the web :) It's on the 2nd page of this thread.

Well I have a eclectic taste, so I actually posted a lot of stuff and there are a few of my friends who are also into those genres, if you post stuff they will probably follow you :) I posted these on the site recently

realize that the link he posted in his OP links to the feed itself and bypasses the main page located

at www.songfountain.com.

the main page makes clears up any questions as to what the site is about,

but obviously linking straight to the feed might leave you hangin'.

Yeah, I recently realized how bad my idea to linking directly to the site feed was and not to main page with a video that explains the site hahah http://www.songfountain.com

I couldn't edit my post unfortunately. My initial thought was that people wouldn't understand the huge arrow lol.

Yeah it's gonna get a more specific answer from linking to the home. But, Search engines are fucking huge site input now so a random visiter wouldn't see the home first. Just go to a random page in your site that's searchable on engines etc and pretend you know nothing about it.

Will you get a good idea within 5-10 seconds or not. Cause if not then something needs to be sorted. Users are fickle and won't stay at something which doesn't make instant sense.

That's a very good point because we do get a lot of search engine results and they don't really understand things too well and they will listen and leave.
