A watmm cover/remix album of a featured artist

How many would be interested in making a remix/cover album of one of the featured artists albums?

I havent voted yet because Im trying to decide between Vibert and Plaid.

Yeah... after thinking about it all day, Autechre would be a little tricky, though something from the Amber/ Tri Rep era would probably be do-able. Nevertheless, I'm really feeling BoC, if I can get a good wobbly detuned synth-type deal going.

B.O.C. is without a doubt the best choice for a lot of reasons.

i was just thinking today about remixing shobaleader one with live instrumentation, proper drums, non-synthy guitars, sort of indie style. that album is full of brilliant musical ideas but most of the sounds are really gay.

I leave this go for a week. Then I'll do a new poll to see which album people want to do.

Me too dude. As much as I like BoC I cant shake the feeling it wouldn't be as good as a Plaid cover album.

Or squarepusher, i think squarepusher would be good.

I wasn't sure but then I decided to vote Autechre. Although, as an alternate idea (which was what I initially misunderstood the idea to be about) would be to have an album of covers/remixes of the WATMM feature artists. I'd personally think that would make a pretty interesting compilation and would have much more variety. Also that way, the various people involved will be much more motivated because they're working on something really inspiring to them rather than fitting in with the vote. I'm not sure I could even finish a Cylob or Squarepusher cover to be honest (for example).

Tom Jenkinson covers would be a million times more fun, plus he's got a waaaaaaay bigger catalog and variety of material to choose from.

The real question is, which daring motherfucker is gonna step up and cover 'Steinbolt'?

I read it that we would be covering a whole album, I think I like that idea better.

There are a few autechre tracks from their back catalogue that I could possibly consider having a go at, but I just think a BOC album as a whole has more scope for being remixable.

Also, Ive only got Greedy baby by Plaid...
