I'll let what has already been written speak for itself. Truly great female vocalists are too few and far between, and Trish was not just one of the most distinctive, but one of the best. She was only 42 years old. RIP

Man. Very sad. I have to say, I never really listened to Broadcast, save for the occasional compilation track.

I know they are a special band to many people. Sorry you guys

I probably should listen to more of their stuff (currently listening to the Warp playlist).

so important, so good. i was hoping for a new album this year. this is completely wrong and heartwrenching.

meanwhile - the local maternity ward - nurse comes in with a great big sledgehammer

it linked to this live performance

that was great to read, thanks... I think this line really gets down to it: "Something about Keenan’s voice always sounds like she’s looking you dead in the eye". Even when her voice is distant, deadpan or monotonous, there's always something very intimate and direct about her delivery which is why I think it connects so well on an emotional level.

And yes, I'm vastly hungover and crying into my tea.

Not familiar with most of Broadcast's output (only really discovered them after this sad news), though I'm sure I've heard Trish's voice elsewhere.

R.I.P - Lovely voice, and terrible to be robbed of her life so young.

i'm so glad i went to see them in Austin last year, even in the pouring rain i knew there would be something special there. hope there might be unreleased material for a new album.
