Biosphere - Wireless - Live At The Arnolfini, Bristol

Recorded by Chris Watson, mastered by BJ Nilsen. Doesn't get much better than that.

the best live albums I've heard are all jazz albums.

totally agree. This one was not recorded with live audience but the live performance was as precise as the recording:

christ i forgot about peel sessions

in that case

orchestral manouevres in the dark peel sessions 1979-1983

the smiths peel sessions (all of it)

christ why am i even bothering if i like a band and they have peel sessions i probably love it. i can't think of any off the top of my head that i have heard that i dont like.

Not all Peel Sessions were recorded live (a lot were just regular studio recording sessions).

Haven't bought a lot of live albums over the years, but some of my all time favs are Nirvana and Alice In Chains from MTV Unplugged. Both are fantastic concerts, and both are some of the last appearances from both bands. Listening to the angst-ridden vocals Layne Staley singing "down in a hole" knowing that he had one foot in the grave is really heart braking.

And also, mixes by Prodigy and the Chemicval Brothers as best LIVE albums? Common!
