He spoke briefly about "47 Ronin" and "Bill and Ted 3," but the big news came when Reeves revealed that he met with the Wachowskis around Christmas. They told him that they completed script treatments for two more "Matrix" installments. They are planning to make the films in 3D and have already met with James Cameron to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the technology.

 

Reeves added that he's excited to return as Neo and promised that the treatments will truly revolutionize the action genre like the first "Matrix" film did.

Nobody likes the Matrix sequels. Someone must have told the Wachowskis? Just make a new film

I'm very cautiously, quietly psyched about this.

Yes, the two sequels are massively flawed and the Wachowski's blew the chance to produce something really quite astonishing, but there were some nice ideas strugglnig to get out. If they produce something more akin to the superb first movie, then I'd be genuinely excited. If utilised properly, they could produce some marvellous visual effects with 3D (though I would'nt want that at the expense of a good script, mind).

4 and 5? but there wasn't even a second and third movie.

even the first matrix was fucking shit. seriously, go watch it now - it's facepalm city. I used to love the matrix - when it first came out.... and that's it's problem - watch it now and cringe. and don't even get me started on the sequels...

I thought the ending of Revolutions (the lack of any definitive victory by the humans) was quite interesting, in that "If you are being farmed, and you can't survive in large numbers without the farming apparatus, what are your options?"

There's a fan edit called Matrix Dezionized (or something like that) that merges the two sequels together into one, removing about 2 hours of crap. I still need to check it out, but it sounds exactly what should've happened in the first place....

I think 2 and 3 actually managed to retroactively fuck up the first one by trying to explain too much about how things worked

god it's rubbish. what about "morpheus" - what a fucking twat. what about neo's long black coat/robe and the sad cunts you still see walking about trying to look like him. what about all the excessive sunglasses wearing and the "cool" big beat soundtrack? what about the annoying music generally - that fucking long trumpet stab thing that gets overused - lol give me a fucking break.
