Listen to more Captain Beefheart or just get really fucking wrecked. "bat chain puller", "a squid eating dough in a polyethylene bag is fast and bulbous, get me?". Even Juicy Luke Vibert caught on to the Cap'n (RIP). Weed makes me very creative with words and thoughts--to the point of psychosis unfortunately, which is why I don't get high anymore. One time, my wife made this "experimental" skirt in a fashion class that incorporated Christmas lights in it. She couldn't come up with a name so I said "wait a tick", ripped up the bong and came back with.....

"Yuletide For The Backside"

She was neither amused nor impressed so take that for what you will :cisfor:

Yr doing it rong / 420 smoke weed everyday :trashbear:

Also 277:90210 every thread you post in is like a wet fart in a wedding dress, go beat off a mannequin or something

Didn't this happen to (former?) watmm knob-twiddler Mosca? IIRC some other dude named Mosca jumped onto the dubstep scene out of nowhere... damn, I feel for the O.G. mosca...

Even I felt a bit irked by that. The Mosca from here is responsible for some proper good stuff, while the 'new' one is immediately forgettable.

That sucks hard. In some ways, another aspect to the monster of shit that dubstep has devolved into.

Remember that Santigold/Santigold wackiness? She had to change her name because a Baltimore area huckster, infomercial star, and producer of a sci-fi pro-wrestling film named Santo Gold threatened to sue. Even with discogs and lastfm as means to check name "availability" shit still happens.

I just think it is to the point where everyone should realize how many "artists" there are now because of how easy it is for anyone to make music and make it available to the public. Any kid with a bedroom and a computer can download some software and make a profile and a name, and then that is it, whatever he came up with exists. Not everyone wants to come up with something like Quaristice, maybe I want to be called The Black Apples, but I bet that if I searched there is someone out there already going by that. Well so what, we just start cataloging it like The Black Apples (UK) or The Black Apples (Canada), etc. If they both get signed and go on tour, again, so what.. but of course the laws would have to change so one can't sue the other.

it happened to me with some shitty electro band from argentina called 'modex'. i switched to pselodux because i highly doubt anyone else would ever come up with that name.

it also happened to pivot. some lesser known and practically dormant band threatened to sue so they ended up dropping the vowels from their name, very lame. everyone still calls them pivot though.

I suppose the chances of 2 coolname's becoming famous are quite slim.

It happened with Richie Hawtin as Plasticman (the dubstep dj of the same name also made it big and is now called Plastician).

My mate called himself "the saint" on our club flyers when we DJ'd in Coventry. A well known DJ from Southampton also called The Saint turned up at one of our gigs to check him out - it was all laughs at the bar but he never used that dj name again (I dont know what was said...)

i know a dj who goes by just "saint" as well. pretty popular name apparently.
