From the Warp Records facebook page :

Stream or download a new Prefuse73 track from the forthcoming album http://www.prefuse73.com/the-only-she-chapters/also at Pitchfork http://bit.ly/ghsZqH

Downloading it right now. The "given" track is "The Only Hand To Hold" (feat. Shara Worden).

And Edit : it sounds quite good, very calm and relaxing. Reminds me of the Interregnum tracks, but way deeper. Plus beautiful vocals.

More like his Savath stuff, I like it. I wonder what the other singers will bring and if he'll screw around with the vocals a bit more.

A bit more chill than I was hoping for, but we'll see. Does have a nice experimental feel though.

Is it just me or does this sound a bit like a sampler? Seems to fade from one thing to another a few times.

Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't :trashbear:

Currently listening, it's a lot more laid back than Ampexian, and a little less spaced out. Also seems more complete and thought out, than the 7 tracks in 5 minutes style that Ampexian kinda fell into. I'm liking it so far. I'll have to grab higher quality files when they're available or purchase it when my paychecks from my new job start rolling in.

Prefuse 73 has collaborated with Zola Jesus, who also features on his forthcoming album, for this psychedelic mixtape - the first part of an ongoing mixtape series (including more collaborative mixes with Zola)

Download the mix here.

This is actually quite good, when I first hear of it I thought oh great, one of those diplo type vehicle mixtapes, but it's not like that at all, no singing, all mixing thank god. Very Ghost boxxy, I dig.

I've bought every Prefuse 73 release up to this point, unheard, on or around the release date. I wonder if I should buy this one. I've enjoyed the others, no doubt, I'm just a little cautious with all the female vocals in here, and it being more like Savath stuff but I never really got into.

I haven't read a single thing about this album anywhere. It seems like Prefuse has kind of died a slow death in terms of 'hype' or what have you.

For me I've also stayed a fan until now, with Ampexian being one of his better albums in my mind.

This has steadily grown on me over time. It's definitely a depressing listen, slow, drawn out... but well produced, actually it's very good. It is quite a bit like Savath. I think that's a good thing, personally.

This has grown a lot over the past few weeks of just kind of lazily listening to it now and then in the background. It's not attention grabbing, really the opposite of Ampexian which was a clusterfuck of greatness.

I find it very pleasing to note that this has grown in that way. You know, an album that seems to be pretty much dull or pointless...not expecting anything out of it, then you find yourself recognizing stuff going on and find that you actually really like it.

it's very 'psychedelic'

Well. What to say, I'm not sure. 2 listens yesterday. First, kind of glad I decided to sample beforeinstead of buying. Too droney. Too monotonous. Well done, of course, with some interesting sounds...but overall I don't find it interesting. I think there is a decent amount of variation throughout the album, it doesn't all sound like one long track, but it's too atmospheric for my liking. I suppose it's good reading music though, so I'll keep playing it during my commutes here and there, maybe I'll even try during work.

I really dislike "The Only Repeat". Way too long and it starts getting annoying about halfway through.

My feedback may sound a bit harsh. Don't get me wrong I'm not one to expect him to make another Vocal Studies or One Word...I've enjoyed all of his albums to this point even if some more than others. And this has its merits. But it's probably the first that doesn't align with my tastes. It could also be that my tastes have changed. But that's beside the point.

I'm not sure what to make of it, I think some parts will take some time to click. Trial of 9000 Suns and Lillies and Lilacs Pt. 2 strike me as pretty good though after my first less-than-ideal listen.

It is pretty disappointing that this album was so slept on.

It's hard to resist sleeping on it. Might take years to appreciate, at my rate (2 or 3 listens since release).
