I know nothing of football, but I think I'd call that a lack of effort on part of the goalkeeper . . . why wouldn't you dive at such a crucial point in the match?

Nothing the keeper could have done in that situation. Most likely didn't see the ball until it was over the wall and by the time his neurons fired to tell him to jump, the ball was in the net.
