Need suggestions for an affordable monophonic synthesizer

i'm all for what analogue wings said, personally, and imho.

forget that BCM thing, whatever he is, he doesn't know wtf he's talking about. a man that's gone from "hardware is passe" to then buying up hardware controllers to use with his software only setup, lol..., to then saying he loves hardware but has put all of his away cos he just doesn't have the space,.... what a comprehensively boring fool.

i really don't think there is any call for personal insults in this thread sirch. in my view i made some good points and stand by them - the dark energy is a fantastic, cheap monophonic synth - you can't argue with that surely? why do you think i don't know what i'm talking about? i don't really understand where you get that from...if you actually read my hardware is so passe thread, you will see that the title is really a joke and it's mainly about me finding inspiration from a change in working practices from a hardware only setup to a software (+ controller keyboard) only setup.

plus your chronology is incorrect. i haven't gone from the hardware passe thread to buying hardware controllers as you said. i have gone from a table full of hardware, leads and clutter to a nice clean table with a laptop and controller keyboard on it. i started the thread after i had made the change. that's pretty much it.

edit: what's wrong with using hardware controller keyboards and software? you seem to imply this is somehow laughable...

also, stop stealing my lines.
