Alright cool. I've made my point then.

However Obama has now 'carried water' for Bush continuing some of his most awful policies.

Yes, this really bothers me too. I don't think Obama is perfect, or even that great, Just refreshing in comparison to 8 years of Dubya.

I still have faith that Obama has the potential to do great things/repeal the shitty Bush laws.

Obama and his administration are powerless. But it isn't their fault. They've all got guns to their heads.

This is how the world works, people. We're fucked!

It's a conspiracy theory. The thought that the President is just a figurehead and a secret organization makes the laws.

So, sort of half-trolling.

i also have to mention it's extremely shocking ot me that people who don't live in the united states feel any sort of attachment or good vibes towards Obama. How did the international community get hood winked so badly? For years Europe laughed at our assinine presidents, Reagan, Bush Jr, etc. So now we have a guy who uses proper grammar and speaks well and Europeans love him, very very odd.

maybe because the rest of the world is as stupid as Americans are?

*mind blown*

Funny how politics can polarize when it's 'function' is to bring nuance to the discussion. Welcome to the US. It's either black or white. Like in those Disney movies.

...

Or is it?

*adding some nuance like a stupid european*

we (Europeans) found Bush scary - and most republicans really - because of their ultra-christianism and their belief that America is the absolute number one country in the world and all that shit. Obama is not like that innit so we were all like yeah an American prez who's not absolutely petrifying. The outside view is seems to be that although Obama's been prevented from doing all his decent shit by all the ultra-right nutters, he himself is still a sterling chap. Edited by ezkerraldean

Please show the relationship of Goldmans funding with the development of new regulations for the financial system. I'm still under the impression that along the legislations of the new healthcare bill, the financial-market bill was about as HUGE an achievement as any. Before you'll reply, let me state that i'm half conscious of my foolishness, but that arguing that obama hasn't achieved anything particularly noteworthy is at least as stupid. Because, obviously some pretty important regulations did indeed pass the various houses (or whatever you american fruitbags call your political process). And I demand a BALANCED answer. Please.

Thanks ahead.

additionally goldman sachs has traditionally donated more to Democrats than republicans (at least since 1990).

well did you watch the press conference he had on japan today or not?

I'm guessing you didn't...

i saw it, but don't you think his responses have been awfully late or delayed? His first statements about japan were shockingly weak

so far Obama is the worst president at seeming generically 'presidential' that i've ever seen in my lifetime. I'm very surprised that he isn't able to channel any of that commandeering vibe in his actual presidency that he was during his campaign

edit: and no i'm not even talking about his abominable human rights records, his refusal to close gitmo, his refusal to reverse any of the civil liberties encroaching policies set out by bush or anything of that nature, im talking strictly froma generic american proud of your president point of view, and from that view Obama is doing a fucking bad job. As stupid/retarded as george bush was he at least knew how to play the 'act like a confident president' game much better than Obama imo

agree, Obama has generally been very lazy and inept while also showing arrogance

I don't think he's destroying the country he's just not doing much to help it where it needs helping

Because every time he DOES try to do something congress ties his hands. Why is Gitmo not closed? Congress. Obama cannot just speak bills into legislation, they have to be debated by all the fuck-wit congressmen who are more interested in what lobbyists can do for them than what they can do for the American people. You can't put all the blame on Obama. He's not innocent in the grand scheme of things, but he's far from the be-all end-all cause of America's woes.

I completely agree that the extension of the PatAct, treatment of Pvt. Manning and other things are fucked and he's not doing the right thing at all, but again, he's not solely to blame.

Checks and Balances people, checks and balances.
