Christopher Hitchens

I regularly keep up to date with his writing. He's canceled future events citing his health, and hasn't written anything in a couple weeks. Things are looking bleak.

yeah, but this guy's really cool.

it's a terrible shame really - i don't always agree with everything he writes, but he's a compelling, eloquent and incredibly intelligent writer. he'll be sadly missed. i've got to read that autobiography...

Never liked the guy. His smarmy voice, the tone of his writings (and often their content), his fawning idiot fans. Still, sad news that he's going so (relatively) young.

It should have been Dawkins.

to be honest, as much as I am for respecting religious views to a certain extent, its nice to see someone straight up go "stop fucking talking, you are making shit up and you are stupid for doing so."

Actually, many former religious people have cited his and Dawkins' books as being the source for losing their faith. So you are wrong.
