Me and Chassis were completely pissed when talking to richard, Coalbucket too... and I'm pretty sure Richard was fairly pissed because he was drinking out of a plastic cup without using his hands.

I don't think i was even capable of talking about music haha

yeah but digital food can be unhealthy...

punched me in the rucksack at glade 2005, there wasn't many people where I was standing so I thought it was strange, so i turned around looked at him. said alright? shook his hand and walked out of the tent to get pancakes as I was starving.

This not Aphex, but it's Elijah Wood commenting on Aphex after the show at Coachella, kind of funny but it's positive feedback, that or he just said it to shut me up quick. Notice the thrilled look of the girl with him, it says, "oh god, another person wanting to talk to Elijah and shoving a camera in his face" lol. I kept it short and simple tho, wasn't out to see Elijah Wood anyways

I've been wearing this Aphex shirt I made (spraypainted the logo onto the shirt using a stencil) for about three years now, looks similar to this

and not once has anyone commented on it, ever. But yesterday, I got FOUR different people independently telling me "Yo that's Aphex Twin dude, awesome!", one of which was a woman who then for some reason assumed that I WAS Aphex Twin and kept calling me by his name. I mean, I do have the hair and all, but ...

I felt kind of strange when I have been to aphex twin shows and the 3rd look-alike with long hair and the black logo shirt crossed my way

people are usually like "wow i've never seen an aphex twin shirt. that's so amazing."

Or "oh you're wearing an half life 2 shirt ??" lol

Germany in the post-90's - people don't know electronic music. Only house, David Guetta, that kinda deal.

yeah that happened to me in school a lot. I had the symbol on my pencil case and usually this would happen:

Guy: "Half Life 2, eh"

Me: "Nah it's Aphex"

Guy: "Who?"

Me: "Aphex Twin, a musician, it's his logo."

Guy: "Well they stole from Half Life then!"

Me: "No, HIS logo was made about 10 years before Half Life, and the actual Half Life logo was made about 3000 years before Half Life."

That's the straightest thing you've ever said.

Seriously tho in response to the thread, I'd say when I met him backstage at Coachella in 2008. I never planned on getting backstage, didn't have a pass. Snuck in under the suggestion of SPD here of watmm (represent) lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9G1sdo8UTY

Camera wasn't working for photos properly so I switched to video and handed the camera to SPD while I frantically searched for a marker for him to sign some stuff, didn't ever find one but got a pen and he scribbled on my SAW 85-92 original release on CD, made do with what I could. I'd say it's random tho because even when I got backstage awhile after the show (after meeting up with some other watmm members) never expected to run into him, also I was pretty buzzed on some killer cali marijuana and $8 beers (good thing I had a few before the show, otherwise I would have broke the bank) One of the coolest moments of my life, he only has been in America once since then in the last decade as far as I know and that was in 2002. So I'm greatful I met the man. He also (if you listen close enough in the video) states he was planning on doing a 2 hour set at least since it took him so long to sort his visa out and hadn't been here for awhile, damn Coachella festival for only allowing him an hour set

Oh, so that's what happened. And where you took that pic. Now i get it. So it wasn't a watmm diSs, it was a 'watmm represent'

;-]

Why did you happen to have an aphex CD on you if you didn't expect to see him there btw.

*reads rest of thread, maybe it's in there.

Haha, that's an odd concept to mull over. If aphex was like robert smith (from the cure) or something, inspiring a legion of look-a-likes. Thankfully they make acid instead of dressing acid.

It is because I really had hoped to see him anyways where I might have the opportunity, you never know! I also had Tuss Rushup Edge and Joyrex J9 picture disc in the car, but thought against bringing them in. Kind of wish I had now obviously
