they definitely are a better studio band than live. their voices are horrific live. although i must say, panda sung quite well on jimmy fallon, but for the most part, ac/panda live is unlistenable for me. especially when they are hitting play on sequencers. what a boring tour it must be for geologist...

I can't get into a lot of their stuff. My Girls is a nice song too, mostly because I like how the vocals are layered over each other.

Nothing on MPP is particularly bad, I happen to find some of it really easy to skip over though.

First time I saw them live, they were plying strawberry jam stuff before the album was released, it was intense, scary, loud, insane, strange, alien, I didn't know how they were making the sounds with the instruments they played, they wore weird clothing (Avey looked like he was wearing pyjamas, Deakin had an afro wig made of fake flowers and one of those masks you sometimes see them wear in publicity photos), it just felt like I was in a dream.... in other words, IT WAS AMAZING!!!

The second time I saw them, it was three guys behind a few metal boxes.

It was... not so cool.

The other thing that made the first concert amazing for me is that I'd never heard their music before, and on top of that, I was mostly listening to IDM, under the idea that "rock music is never as inventive, strange and alien as electronic music could ever be". Obviously, since then I've realised that AC are not the only bands like this out there (I'd never heard any krautrock before I heard AC for example).

But it still makes albums like Feels and Strawberry Jam seem really special to me.

this live set here is much better than anything i have heard live from them, i will give you that. but the times i have seen them were not good at all.

being able to dance what is widely accepted as 'good' is nothing to be proud of .. its not a sport , if you are listening to music and you are feeling it and into it youre allowed to move however you want . white people know how to dance. they dont try too hard.
